I just ordered my Haul Master tow bar and magnetic tow light kit from HF. The tow bar was $69.99 & the light kit was $29.99 after shipping & tax the total was $116.98. Thats less then the Reese tow bar along here locally. I did some research and the bar meets all the same standards as the Reess tow bar. It comes with quick connect brackets that will mount directly to my bumper. The bar pins to the brackets this will allow me to remove it easly. It comes with the 2" coupler and is rated for up to 5000 lbs. towing compacity. I figured since most of my wheeling is local and I only need to tow the Jeep a couple times a year this is the best and most feasible way for me to tow my Jeep. I'll be using the setup for the 1st time in April when I go up to Sporty's. If all goes well I'll be heading to Rausch Creek. Now I'll need to learn how to take it easy on the skinny pedal when wheeling.

I can't really speak to the quality of the a harbor freight tow bar but I have never had a decent experience with a harbor freight product ever. Everything I have ever bought there before either didnt work very well or broke after only a little light use, I nearly lost my hand after one of the spring compressors I bought from them violently snapped, and their response in the store was to offer me another and refuse to refund my money.

I'll be towing with my 03 4.0l 4x4 Ford Ranger. The Ranger bumper is a bit lower then the Jeep bumper but I'll get a ball mount with a 4" rise and it will put the ball just about level with the Jeep bumper. As far as the quality goes I asked around over on Jeepforum and everyone who is using the Haul Master tow bar from HF is very happy with it. I guess time will tell.
